The Portuguese group Pestana has landed in Patagonia, Argentina: The hotel chain will manage the exclusive Arelauquen Lodge, with which will have two facilities in the country and a dozen in the entire region of South America.
Pestana, Portugal's largest hotel group, has become since 14 December, the administrator of this luxury lodge, or about five-star hotel in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with 5 acres own reserve, and only a few minutes from downtown Bariloche (Black River).
This brand new Pestana be the first of the chain to be located at a ski resort, since only ten minutes from there you can access the Cerro Catedral, the most important station of this beautiful city in Patagonia Argentina.
With Arelauquen Lodge Golf & Polo, the group will keep betting on South America, a region with potential for its natural beauty and wonderful scenery, and where it now has eleven hotels, some of them: the Convento do Carmo, Bahia and the Curitiba, both in Brazil or Argentina in the capital itself, the Pestana Buenos Aires.
This new acquisition is part of the strategic development plan of the Pestana Group in the region which will run for ten years, and where plans to keep growing with new shops in major cities and tourist resorts.
On this latest acquisition in the southernmost country in the Americas, the president of the hotel company, Dinis Pestana, said "a greater presence in Argentina was always a target present." And in this sense, Bariloche was a city more than adequate to continue its expansion in the area as "one of the main tourist centers of the country and a world class destination."
The president said that at this luxurious lodge the company found the "perfect hotel" according to "their standards and a unique connection with nature." Finally, he stressed that along with the Pestana Buenos Aires, this new hotel, "enables them to offer more of Argentina" to their customers.
The new Pestana Bariloche has to offer 23 distinguished rooms, very warm and friendly with rustic decor, restaurants, its Arelauquen Golf & Country Club with an 18-hole courses, Polo Club, tennis, trekking, mountain biking and climbing, and an area of 560 hectares of nature reserve and parkland.
