Daniel, a young man prepared in the world of Hospitality

Born in Barcelona and raised in the Barcelona neighborhood of Taixonera, graduated in Tourism from the Escola Superior d'Catering and Tourism Sant Ignasi, then move to the English city of Birmingham to study a BA (Hons) Tourism and Business Management and an MSc in Management Hospitallity Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.

His professional career began in the hotel sector with university practices at Suite Hotel in 1995 and the Hotel Arts 1996, both in the city.

In 2000 he joined the reception team at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham, for soon after being selected for a Graduate Management Program in the housing area at London Heathrow Marriott Hotel.

In 2002 he returned to Barcelona where he had the opportunity to continue his career at the Eurostar Grand Marina, participate in the openings of the Grand Hotel Florida and Hotel Casa Fuster and join the team at Hotel Duquesa de Cardona. In July 2007 he moved to the island of Ibiza where he joined the opening of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, where he is today.

A busy road but full of professional satisfactions that become the ideal person to tell us their vision of the hotel world of today the sector in Spain, the crisis and everything that matters to the supporters to the reserved hotel.

- How did the idea / need to do a blog on Hotel & Tourism?
– At a dinner with a coworker that I realized I was falling behind with technological advancements, web 2.0, social networking … I tried to take action and was beginning to develop a blog to prove. The agenda, no doubt must be hotels and tourism, because that's what I like.

- What kind of tourism is for the blog?
– I would say that the original idea was clearly aimed at professionals in the hotel industry, but as I'm doing I think is suitable for a wider audience.

- What are the objectives the same?
– Share my ideas and concerns.

- Have you considered creating a Facebook page to get more important?
– The blog is linked to my facebook profile, so many of my contacts follow the blog through facebook itself.

– In my blog there are articles about different hotels and destinations, you also give the hotel industry news?
– It is the intent and thus any input or assistance of those who read my blog will be grateful.

- How do you see the tourism and hospitality sector in the country?
– I'm pretty critical of the current situation, I believe that many decisions have been justified with the global crisis, which no doubt exist, but do not think is the cause of it.

I think the training areas are vital and should make an effort to improve and update certain aspects of the industry they are a little outdated.

- How does, hotel of the country's economic crisis?
– As continues to affect, I guess. The crisis has prompted many hotels have entered into an arrangement with creditors, layoffs, sale of property, tariff reductions, salary freezes … Unfortunately, anyone seen in the crisis an opportunity for ingenuity and the search for intelligent solutions, have taken the most direct way to reduce costs of all types that we see its consequences.

– How can involve the readers of your blog?: Say in comments, submit news, forums, etc …
– In the spaces provided in the blog and I invite you to make as many comments as they wish, regardless of their position, for the benefit of the debate.

Ibiza is a place where thousands of passengers each year come to know her charms, and one of them are their festivals and events. View the theater, attend class concerts, fiestas, or poetry (Teaching the City) and a host of exhibitions with art exhibitions, take place during each season in various <a href="http://www.goldenquestions.com/travel/?s=museum"title="More about Museums" >museums including the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jazz Festival, in Dalt Vila, which is every year (in July) and is held in pitiusa capital, a most prestigious musical encounter, allowing us to promote the young stars of this musical genre in the Mediterranean. We can enjoy the film series (Anem the movies) and special programs of activities at the Centro Cultural Can Ventosa.

Fiesta de San Antonio Abad, 17 January.

One of the most celebrated saints in the cities of the Balearic Islands. On that day, the whole city is decked out to give offerings to their patron saint. The Passeig de Ses Fonts is the central place where it happens most of the activities. We walked through gardens and fountains, an unforgettable ride to the bay of San Antonio Abad, on the east coast of Ibiza, to witness the celebrations. This place, called by the Romans as Portus Magnus "(big port), has great beauty.

In the morning he celebrated a Mass, followed by a procession and blessing of the animals. To the beat of the traditional instruments of Ibiza, is represented with dances and you can enjoy a wonderful carnival. Ibiza is a town that still retains its fishing village style, with its typical houses, narrow streets, and its unparalleled sunsets. Up front, it will be worth the spectacular view Conillera Islet, which makes the sunset is an unforgettable <a href="http://www.goldenquestions.com/travel/?s=gift"title="More about Gifts" >gift.

Festes de la Terra Eivissa, from 1 to 8 August

In homage to its patron saint Santa Maria de las Nieves and San Ciriaco. With the latter recalls the Catalan conquest of Ibiza on August 8, 1235. You can enjoy competitions, cultural exhibitions, performances in the streets … all part of traditional religious festivals. On the 5th of August is the feast of the Virgin, and on 8 August in San Ciriaco. Morning sung Mass is celebrated in honor of the saint in the cathedral. Then a parade of all the parishes and their parishioners, marching with their flags. The flag's oldest and most popular is the parish of Sant Llorenç, which has over two hundred years. The emblem of St. George, is another of those standards, this had to be hidden below ground during the Civil War.

The two highlights of Ibiza, include biodiversity and culture, which point to his statement of a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Currently, the city is divided in Sa Penya, known as "Lower City" and Dalt Vila, a region at the top of the monumental city, declared Patrimony of Humanity. Dalt Vila is surrounded by the well-preserved Renaissance walls Built by King Charles V, who served as a model for the walls and fortresses in the New World. The extra height of the walls provides a magnificent view of the city and the port below it.

Portal de ses Taules, background is the door to the wall, inside buildings, such as City Hall, located in the former convent of Preachers, the Church of Santo Domingo and the chapel of San Salvador. The cathedral, built over an old mosque, has a sober Gothic structure built in the 14th century and restored in the 18th century. It is one of the most valuable pieces of jewelry that are held they are gold-silver. They share the same square of the cathedral, the Episcopal Palace noted for his door several entries. Another notable building is the <a href="http://www.goldenquestions.com/travel/?s=castle"title="More about Castles" >Castle or the Almudaina, the tallest building in the capital.

Inside the center, visit the Archaeological <a href="http://www.goldenquestions.com/travel/?s=museum"title="More about Museums" >Museum, an exhibition depicting the rich culture of the city with a rich collection of samples from the Phoenicians and Carthaginians.

The best way to admire the architecture of Ibiza is that people walk through the narrow streets of Old Port, through the central avenue of Vara de Rey, and then intercept the lighthouse door Botafoc.

Apart from fishing in the lower city, another important issue is the necropolis of Puig des Molins, also declared a World Heritage Site, together with Sa Caleta and the Natural Reserve of Ses Salines. At this site, we discovered more than 4,000 Punic and Roman tombs. The statues of the Goddess and the God Tania Baar, are the two main parts.

Along the coast, numerous terraces and <a href="http://www.goldenquestions.com/travel/?s=restaurants"title="More about Restaurants" >restaurants are lined up, where visitors can experience the best cuisine in Ibiza. At night, the city is celebrating and reveals its night side, with bars, discos, clubs, late at or rather until dawn, all encouraged by his known DJs.

The beaches and coves of Ibiza, Figueretas, Es Vive and Talamanca are beautiful golden sandy beaches and a magnificent backdrop dazzled divers, so for its large number of indigenous species of the Mediterranean that is part of a rich marine ecosystem and diverse. This combination of culture and biodiversity has been a key factor in the decision by UNESCO to declare this place a World Heritage Site.

Ibiza's cuisine combines a wide range of specialties. Thus, the sausages are part of that center stage, an excellent example is the "sausage, made with ground beef and spices typical. Also typical is the tumbet (a baked dish with peppers, eggplant and potatoes) and rice dishes with fish. For dessert, you can choose between the famous ensaimada (a spiral-shaped cake with powdered sugar), cheese labeled appellation of origin (Queso Mahon in Ibiza), we can not forget one of the wines produced in the Balearic Islands.

The island of Ibiza can be visited in its entirety, taking the capital as a starting point. A few kilometers away is the town northeast of Santa Eulària des Riu, with its Roman cemetery and the church stands on top of Puig de Missa. Portinatx is then, a tourist city with beautiful coves and the authentic atmosphere of the fishing village. Finally, Sant Antoni de Portmany has some of the best beaches in the West, besides being a vibrant and exciting place on the island.

Enjoy your trip to Ibiza!
